A very rare obol of Seleukos I

SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.46 g, 11 h), Susa, circa 305/4-295. Bust of Alexander the Great, with the features of Seleukos, as Dionysos to right, wearing Attic helmet covered with a panther skin and adorned with bull's ear and horns, ear guards lowered and panther skin tied around neck. Rev. ΣΕΛΕ (?) Nike standing right, placing wreath on top of a trophy of arms to her right; to lower left, Η; between Nike and trophy, Boiotian shield. SC Ad.86-87 var. (differing legend and controls). Very rare. A very attractive piece struck on an exceptionally broad flan. Harshly cleaned and the obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
